Yes! As a public charter school, NECPS is completely tuition-free for all students from PreK through 12th grade. We rely on state and local funding to provide high-quality education without any cost to families.

Enrollment is open to all students, with no residency restrictions. We serve families from multiple counties across Eastern North Carolina. Applications are accepted year-round, and if applications exceed available spots, admission is determined through a fair lottery system to maintain our commitment to manageable class sizes.

We offer a seamless PreK-12th grade education all on one campus. Additionally, our Remote Academy provides flexible online learning options for students in grades 6-12.

Our Dual Enrollment program allows high school students to earn college credits alongside their high school diploma. Remarkably, 95% of our seniors graduate with both a high school diploma and an associate’s degree, giving them a significant head start on college and career paths.

While specific routes may vary, we strive to support families with transportation options where possible. Our Extended Day Program provides convenient after-school care and enrichment activities to accommodate working parents and offer additional learning opportunities.

NEC Prep’s Dual Language Kindergarten is a 50/50 English and Spanish program. Students learn in English one day and Spanish the next, building strong skills in both languages. The class is taught by two teachers — one English teacher and one Spanish teacher — who work together to support student success in both languages.
